For everyone, Sydney is one of the world’s favorite destinations. Its prime location, set on the Darling Harbour and with miles of golden beaches combined with good food and cultural options it has something for everyone. It’s winning of the 2003 Out and About poll of international city of the year just increased popularity for gay travel to Sydney Australia.

The city has a full calendar of Gay and Lesbian events but the biggest of them all is the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. This parade and celebration is held each year in late February and it is a Mecca for fun. The parade is such a part of the general Sydney calendar that it is an attraction for non homosexuals who want to watch the parade, and the parade is shown on commercial TV.

Beaches are everywhere around Sydney. A short ride across the harbor is the Manly area with it’s surf beach and laid back way of Life. There are a wide choice of beaches that are good for swimming and surfing or just lying back and improving your tan. If you want to find naturalist beaches there are four in the area just to the North of Sydney.

Food is a passion here and eating alongside the harbor or the beach is a wonderful way to pass a sunny lunch hour or a balmy evening. If you are invited to a hotel for a drink, just remember the Aussies often call their pubs “hotels”.

The area around Oxford street is known as the Pink Strip. Here is a concentration of Gay friendly shop, bars and clubs. The shopping is diverse as are the clubs – so there should be something for everyone.
